How the journey started
I often get the question about how and why I started to take pictures of Latex Fetishists. Being a Photographer now for more than 8 years, the common theme of my work has always been People. It was very quickly pretty obvious for me that realizing portraits was my thing instead of landscape photography or street photography for example. Enhancing the beauty of my subjects is really what’s drive me and after several years of making portraits of all kinds (lifestyle, boudoir, creative,…) I wanted to tell something through my work, or at least let people discover a universe they don’t really know. Latex came quite easily to my mind as it has always been fascinating for me and I love how it looks. But the essence of my project, which runs since 3 years now, is to really meet this community of Latex Fetishists. This has given me the chance to get in touch with a lot of very interesting and nice people, from very different universes and actually not very different from you and me or your neighbor. The thing is that Latex Fetishists live their fantasies to the fullest and that’s the story behind my pictures.
Back to the subject, how did this project started ? Well sometimes you have to be lucky, when I was doing some search on Instagram to find a first genuine Latex model to work with, I saw the profile of Daniela Benatta. I didn’t realized that she was very famous within the Fetish scene in France as well as in Europe. Thankfully she immediately accepted to work with me and we did a first shooting with Daniela and her girlfriend in a location in Brussels that I rented for the shoot. We were both so happy with the result that we did several others later and we are still in close contact. Working with Daniela and later with Miss Feticilicious for example, really helped me to get enough credibility to enter the community and meet so many other interesting people. About Me.
My name is Genzo, i am a Belgian Photographer based in Brussels, i am passionate about people photography, besides the more traditional portrait photography work that i do, i am interested in alternative communities who express themselves and their fantasies in an uncommon way.
As described above i have started a first project about Latex Fetishists 3 years ago and now in parallel a new one about drag Queens. The people i am working with are not professional models and are genuinely into latex or Drag. I hope you will enjoy my work and be intrigued by it.
